The whole of the Early Years joined together to celebrate the upcoming Royal Wedding as part of our British Values and Social Development activities. The children from 1 to 5 years of age took part in messy cake decorating, Princess and Prince dressing up and castle building, finishing off with some Sports day activities.
Nursery Mummy's visited Nursery on Friday 9th for a lovely tea party. The children loved to have Mummy stay and play and enjoyed yummy cakes. As part of our special morning, together they decorated a flowerpot, adding soil and a beautiful bulb to take home.
Reception have been learning about Guy Fawkes, Bonfire Night and firework safety. Having experienced the event for themselves this weekend, their reflections were captured artistically, using pastels and sugar paper.
For the first Woodland Working this half of the term, Reception and Foundation had the opportunity to cook outside in our fire pit. We toasted bread and made Hot Chocolate to enjoy together. A first experience for many and allowed us to discuss in detail fire safety with the upcoming Bonfire Night.
Foundation are busy bees this term, we have explored many letter sounds to help with reading short words. Children love to join in the activities to support the sounds such as blow painting onto Umbrellas for U and watching our wonderful caterpillars chrysalis for C.
