Year 5 visited Ramsey Fire Station to take part in lots of different activities to do with safety.

One of our favourites was a session by Wood Green Animal Charity, teaching us how to be safe around dogs – they use their bodies to react to things that teach us things about how they are feeling.

Another favourite was when we had to pretend we were stuck in a house when a fire started and we had to get out safely, taking the animals and babies with us, then calling the emergency services to get a fire engine to come to put out the fire.

We were tested all around the activities and were scored for our participation in each one. Whitehall won first prize, with the most points for listening and interaction.

We had a great afternoon; it was one of the best encounters yet. Thank you to the fire, police, animal, ambulance, trading standards and road safety people who came along to help.
