Visit from the Raptor Foundation

Last week we welcomed the Raptor Foundation into School to visit with Key stage 1 and the Early years team as part of our theme about Birds. David arrived with 5 beautiful birds including a barn Owl and a hawk. We learnt about their food, asked questions about how they hunt and many of us chose to have a hold of each bird. We were very interested in their eyes which told us whether they were nocturnal. After Break we were lucky to see them fly. Charlie and Eirann wore a special glove to protect their arms and hands and the owl across the hall over to us. On the return to the classroom we drew lovely pictures of our favourite birds in our diary books.
